Church Organs
To many people an organ is an organ, but for music professionals each has its own personality. The first one installed in the new sanctuary of 1907 was a Bennett. After the 1942 remodeling of the church, a Kilgen organ was built. Thanks to gifts from children and grandchildren of Harriet and Samuel W. Mercer, twelve new ranks of pipes were added and dedicated in 1947. In 1961 a Reuter console was added at a cost of $7,000 with additional work done in 1970. By the time of the 1988-89 renovation, the new Holtkamp was installed.
