The Little Angels Advantage:
Little Angels Learning Center does not simply provide "care", but caters to the developmental needs of the whole child.  We offer creative experiences through exposure to art, science, music, & cultural diversity.  The latter is of special importance to us.  We believe that it is imperative that children not only be exposed to the cultural diversity that is present in our community, but that children who are of a cultural minority are able to attend programs where their own background is represented and their uniqueness celebrated!  In addition, Little Angels places a special emphasis on delivering its care and education using Christian values and principles.  Children will learn about respect, honesty, responsibility, friendship, & caring as it is incorporated into the curriculum.

MORE INFORMATION

Curriculum: Little Angels Learning Center utilizes the Creative Curriculum.  The main ideal set forth by this curriculum is that children learn best through a combination of directed and self-initiated play and exploration.  Our curriculum is delivered using Christian values and principles, and places a special emphasis on character education.

Infants/Toddlers (0-2):The term "curriculum" may seem too formal to use in reference to infants and toddlers.  The Creative Curriculum for Infants & Toddlers however, simply creates a framework for how we: 1)learn from and interact with each child & family, 2)create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment, 3)promote health & safety, and 4)plan & evaluate our program.  This framework allows us to foster the development of social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills in each and every child.

Preschoolers (2-5): At this age, a child's abilities may become a bit more sophisticated, but their basic needs remain the same.  The Creative Curriculum grows with them, while maintaing a focus on developing social/emotional, cognitive, physical, & language skills.  Weekly themes are used to expand the children's learning on a variety of topics.  These themes are incorporated into the classroom's learning centers.

Our Philosophy: Little Angels Learning Center believes that every child is entitled to safe, healthful, loving care, which strengthens family life.  We believe that children learn best by doing and being involved, and that a child's growth and development are best achieved through individual attention, nurturing, and exposure to a diversity of resources, activities, and experiences.  Little Angels is able to implement its philosophy by utilizing a curriculum that emphasizes developmentally appropriate learning activities and character education.

Meals: Each day Little Angels provides a breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack (children ages 1 through 5) that follows guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Families are always welcome to substitute daily menu selections, as long as they follow the Child & Adult Care Food Program guidelines (available from the director).  We will also accommodate those with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarians, those with food allergies, as well as those with religious restrictions.

Staff: All Little Angels staff have education & experience in the field of early childhood education.  All lead staff are CPR & First-Aid certified & attend a variety of child development related training throughout the year.  In addition, all staff participate in annual in-service training that targets the specific needs of our center, as well as the children and families we serve. We believe that parents & teachers should work together as a team when it comes to the development of each child.  Our staff is always open to suggestions and questions from families.  In addition, we encourage family volunteerism and participation in special activities.
