Stewardship Ministry at First United Methodist Church
Stewardship Ministry Action Group of FUMC exists to advance and support the concept of the Ministry of the Laity. In our baptism all of God’s children have received their call to ministry.
As the Apostle Paul writes in I Corinthians 12, the church is the Body of Christ and each of us is a member of it, with individual gifts and abilities to use in the ministry of the church
The goal of the FUMC Stewardship M.A.G. is to invite every member of our church to discover their unique gifts for ministry and to offer their “time and talent” as disciples of Jesus Christ.
A principal way that this is done is through the use of a Ministry Menu, distributed during the annual Stewardship Campaign, enabling First Church members to indicate those ministry areas where they wish to invest themselves in hands-on ministry. The menu lists every ministry opportunity available at First Church, and even leaves space for the writing in of new and creative ministries not yet thought of!
Stewardship Ministry Action Teams
Ministry Menu: Organize the results of the Ministry Menu for the use of the Leadership Team and others.
Spiritual Gifts: Coordinate the offering of the Spiritual Gifts seminars.
Children's Stewardship: Teach children about stewardship.
Youth Stewardship: Teach youth about stewardship.
Environmental Stewardship: Promote environmental stewardship through education, projects and prayer.
Church Cleanup / Fix up: Coordinate a spring cleaning of the church and an Adopt-A-Room project.
