Worship Ministries at First United Methodist Church
Many persons share a hand in helping our church to provide three meaningful and unique services of worship. Laity are involved in the leading of worship as well as in a variety of “behind the scenes” ministries of support. The Worship Ministries Action Group, is responsible for the coordination of this hands-on sharing of talents and abilities through a number of Ministry Action Teams.
Worship Ministry Action Teams: Coordination and training of volunteers are essential components of these roles.
Ushers: Coordinating and training those who share as “Bulletin Greeters” at our services of worship.
Communion: Preparing the communion elements for use during worship.
Audio/Video: Coordinating and training those who operate the sound and video systems of FUMC.
Liturgist: Scheduling and training those who lead worship as liturgists and lectors.
Sanctuary Visuals: Coordinating the use of banners, paraments, flowers, candelabra and other items that enhance the worship experience.
Acolytes: Recruiting and training children and youth to serve as acolytes during worship.
