2011 CONFIRMATION CLASS ORIENTATION will meet Sunday at 2pm in the youth room. All eighth graders participating are asked to attend with their parents and selected mentors. See Pastor Jonathan if you have questions.
SUNDAY MORNING EDUCATION CLASSES ARE UNDERWAY! There is an opportunity to increase your knowledge and grow in your faith every Sunday morning at 9:15 for ages 3 to 100 years. (After that, you’re on your own!)

BOOKS AND BAGELS will resume September 12th at the home of Nancy and Dick Johns, 2731 Oakmont Ct., Coralville, at 7:30 PM. We will share one or two books that we have read that others might enjoy and choose our "calendar" for the year. If you have not been part of this group, but enjoy reading, feel free to join us. ALL MUSIC ENSEMBLES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WILL START SEPTEMBER 12: The Wesley Chimes (Handchimes for K-8th Graders) rehearses from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. in Room 203. The Youth Worship Band rehearses from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Children’s Choir (K-2nd Graders) rehearses from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. and the Children’s Choir (3rd-6nth Graders) rehearses from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All new and existing singers and players are invited to enjoy a special Ice Cream Social with the members of Kids Club and COOL at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the courtyard. Again there is always a place for YOU here in FUMC!!!
THE JOYFUL CHIMERS will start their rehearsal at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, September 13 in the sanctuary. Interested players please feel free to contact Leah Adams or Samuel Kwok.
AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR: FUMC will be hosting a very special event at 6:30pm in our sanctuary on Saturday, October 23 and at 10:30am on Sunday, October 24. A Free Will Offering will be collected. This Choir is made up of children ages 7 to 12 from several African nations. Many of the children are victims of extreme poverty. The primary goal of the Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the African Children’s Choir Programs. They will be performing indigenous music from different African countries. Eight host families are needed from our church to provide rooms and breakfast for 23 children and six chaperones. This is a great opportunity for us to share our hospitality! Interested families please contact Samuel Kwok for hosting information.
